Q: What web browser user interfaces are compatible with this application?
  • Internet Explorer : Supported: 11,10; Edge for Windows 10
  • Firefox : Supported: Version above 45
  • Chrome : Supported: Version above 49
  • Safari : Supported: 9 for OSC; 5 for Windows
  • Opera : Supported: Version 34 and above
Q: If the application does not seem to be functioning properly, should I clear my browser history? If so, what are the steps that should be performed to “clear browser history” for all of the above supported browsers?

Yes, “browser history” should be cleared before contacting SMART help desk. Step by Step instructions for each supported browsers are provided below:

Internet Explorer
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. In the upper right corner, click the small gear icon (to the right of the star icon) and choose Internet Options
  3. On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
  4. Un-check the Preserve Favorites website data box.
  5. Check the Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History boxes.
  6. The Form data, Passwords, and in Private Filtering data boxes may be left un-checked. You can check them to delete this data if you so choose.
  7. Click Delete.
  8. When finished, click OK to return to your Internet Explorer window.
  9. Close the Internet Explorer window and reopen.
Firefox
  1. From the History menu, select Clear Recent History. If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.
  2. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything.
  3. Next to "Details", click the down arrow to choose which elements of the history to clear; to clear your entire cache, select all items.
  4. Click Clear Now.
Chrome
  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the top right, click the Menu Chrome Menu.
  3. Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
  4. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
  5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.
Safari
  1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
  2. In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data....
  3. Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears.
Opera
  1. Click on the Opera button in the top left corner > Settings > Delete Private Data...
  2. Click on Detailed Options to show the rest of the options. Make Sure only the following are checked :
    Delete temporary cookies
    Delete all cookies
    Delete entire cache
  3. Click on the Delete button.

Q: Why does my “active” session lock and how can I re-establish the session?
  • Session lock is enabled after 30 minutes of inactivity
  • User must re-establish session through appropriate identification and authentication procedures such as being required to re-type User ID and password.
  • If a period of inactivity is expected, sign out or log off of the application is recommended.
Q: Once my user profile is established, will I have full access to the application?
  • Application access is based on the role(s) of the individual user which is known as “Role-based access control”.
  • Role-based access is essentially a collection of permissions.
  • All users will be assigned roles based on tasks that they are authorized to perform and access.
